Van Heerden Joaillerie Limited is more than just a business — it’s the continuation of a legacy.

Our founder, Johannes Van Heerden, was born into a family of antiques dealers, stretching back three generations. Raised in and around auction rooms, antique fairs and market stalls, Johannes learned the rhythms of the trade from an early age — the thrill of a great find, the stories behind each piece, and the satisfaction of matching the right object to the right owner.

From his grandparents’ early work in post-war Europe, dealing in silverware and estate jewellery, to his parents' years trading in vintage fashion and decorative antiques, the Van Heerden name has long been associated with integrity, curiosity and a deep respect for history. Johannes has carried this heritage forward with his own passion for vintage fashion, mid-century design, retro watches and unusual collectables, building a reputation for sourcing honest, characterful stock with real charm.

After years working behind the scenes in the trade — sorting mixed lots, cataloguing private collections, and working with dealers across the UK — Johannes founded Van Heerden Joaillerie Limited in 2025 to create a dedicated platform for buying and selling vintage and antique items in a way that’s fair, approachable and informed.

Today, the business continues to reflect the values he was raised with: a keen eye, a personal touch, and a commitment to giving old items new life in the hands of people who’ll appreciate them.
